Our client; A leading International Company based in Kurdistan – Iraq, is looking for Plant Manager

 We are looking for strong Industrial base Plant Manager to Oversee the daily operations of the plant including: Production, Warehouses & Procurement, Quality and Maintenance. being at the helm of the factory reporting to the Company’s MD.

Responsibilities:

1.Operational Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the plant, ensuring that all departments work cohesively to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s objectives and growth plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments and take corrective actions as needed to ensure operational excellence.

2.Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, including department heads in production, maintenance, quality control, warehouse, and procurement.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to department heads and other key staff.
  • Coordinate with the HR and Admin Manager on the management of plant facilities, including office space, amenities, and employee welfare programs.
  • Collaborate with the HR and Admin Manager to identify staffing needs, participate in the recruitment process for key positions, and ensure that the plant is adequately staffed with skilled personnel.
  • Work together with the HR and Admin Manager to design and implement training programs that enhance the skills and competencies of plant staff. This includes technical training, safety training, and leadership development for department heads and supervisors.

3.Production & Quality Control:

  • Ensure that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Production Officer to optimize production schedules, manage resources, and minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control officer to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with industry standards.

4.Maintenance & Equipment Management:

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Officer to develop and implement a preventive maintenance program that ensures the reliability and longevity of all plant equipment.
  • Approve maintenance budgets and capital expenditures (CAPEX) for equipment upgrades and replacements.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and minimize disruptions to production.

 5.Supply Chain & Procurement:

  • Work with the Procurement Engineer to develop and implement sourcing strategies that ensure the timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
  • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient inventory management, storage, and distribution of materials and finished products.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Use the project management system to oversee and manage with cooperation of procurement engineer plant-wide projects, such as equipment upgrades, process improvements, and new product development. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

 6.Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure that all plant operations comply with safety, health and environmental (SHE) regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness with cooperation of SHE officer and ensure that all staff are trained in safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and approve permit to works and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Work closely with the HR and Admin Manager to ensure that all health and safety regulations are met. This includes developing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring that all employees receive adequate safety training.
  • Safety & Health roles and responsibilities commitment letter.

7.Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring that operational costs are controlled and financial targets are met.
  • Analyze financial performance data and implement strategies to improve profitability and reduce costs.
  • Provide regular reports to the Managing Director on operational performance and strategic initiatives.

 8.Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all departments to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing to drive innovation within the plant.
  • Utilize the project management system to drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing projects, process optimizations, and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Encourage collaboration across departments using the project management system, enabling better coordination and faster resolution of issues. This approach helps ensure that all departments are aligned with the plant’s strategic goals.
  • Milestones & Reporting: Use the system to set project milestones, track progress, and generate reports for the Managing Director and other stakeholders. Regular updates on key projects should be shared during management meetings.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in production planning, supply chain management, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, manufacturing principles, and safety regulations.

 Competency:

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and drive results under pressure.
  • Strong financial acumen and business management skills.

 Experiences:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a senior management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple departments and leading large teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required for business needs.
