Our Client , A leading regional Logistics & Transportation Company ( Marine Transport & Freight Forwarding)  with three main branches in Amman , Dubai and Baghdad is looking for Operations Manager to be based in Amman and reports to Regional Head of Logistics and Operations. Supervising :

Job Summary :

 Manage daily operations of all branches, supervise operations and pricing team, and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow and overall division performance. Co-ordinate all shipping and activities, including selecting and shipping supplies.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  1. Implement and support the process of developing all ISO standards and procedures in the company.
  2. Maintain compliance with all company policies and ISO procedures.
  3. Review and audit daily operations follow up sheet.
  4. Formulate and suggest the overall operations/logistics strategies, budgets and policies & procedures.
  5. Develop and Implement Pricing Strategies, Costing and Profitability Analysis.
  6. Derive and develop short and medium-term plans and executive programs to manage and achieve the operations/logistics goals.
  7. Oversee the pricing quotation process, ensuring timely and accurate responses to client inquiries.
  8. Track and analyze pricing performance, identify deviations from targets, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare regular pricing reports for management.
  9. Work closely with the sales and operations teams to understand clients’ needs, service delivery costs, and market feedback to inform pricing decisions.
  10. Monitor the Land function’s performance against pre-set performance goals/targets to ensure that progress is being made in the desirable direction and take preventive/corrective actions accordingly.
  11. Communicate regularly with clients to verify order information and resolve shipping-related issues.
  12. Monitor daily operations to identify and resolve problem areas relating to prioritize orders according to transportation requirements.
  13. Develop standards for measuring performance and monitor target rates for each job.
  14. Analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements and demand.
  15. Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
  16. Develop business by gaining new contracts; analyze logistical/operational problems and producing new solutions.
  17. Apply knowledge of logistics/operations, freight management, and pricing and logistical best practices.
  18. Oversee the coordination regarding routing all shipments to clients as well as send proper notifications to operations team in a timely manner.
  19. Work & coordinate with Company’s offices/partners regarding shipments and reports.
  20. Liaise with the sales team to ensure that they have the required knowledge to sell our service and fulfil clients’ needs and requests through have proper training.
  21. Supervise the training, sharing and transferring knowledge with the sales team to ensure that they have the required knowledge to sell our service and fulfil clients’ needs.
  22. Help IT to determine the best effective use of all our technology tools to improve efficient work flow for all back-end processes.
  23. Handle any projects with other functions such as sea, air freight and chartring.
  24. Conduct performance appraisals for the logistics according to scheduled plans and recommend necessary actions as per the applied practices.
  25. Review and close Jobs at the end of each month in terms of job status (opened, pending, released), and related invoices correctness (bills & amounts).
  26. Submit profit margin figures on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis to the Regional Head of Logistics & Operations.
  27. Develop sales patterns and trends and conduct performance analysis on monthly basis.
  28. Represent the company on any trade & commercial events, meetings, exhibitions and networks related to freight forwarder and participate in building relations, networking and partners.
  29. Perform other duties related to the job as assigned by the Regional Head of Logistics/Operations.
  30. Apply the related IMS requirements and procedures effectively and submit any need for improvement for his\her direct supervisor. 
  31. Ensure IMS suitability, adequacy and effectiveness through management review meetings. 

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in International Business, Logistics or a related field preferred.
  • Professional qualifications in Operations/Logistics qualifications are mandatory.
  • Required Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations, logistics, analytical and planning management with at least 3 years in a senior management position.
