Role mandate.

Improve manufacturing productivity, capacity, cost, quality, workflow, and resource utilization through disciplined industrial-engineering analysis and practical shop-floor implementation.

Job Purpose

The Industrial Engineer analyzes production processes, work methods, labor utilization, equipment capacity, layouts, material flow, and operational data to identify and implement measurable improvements. The role applies industrial-engineering and lean methods to reduce waste and cycle time, improve line balance and output, strengthen standard work, and support safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Methods Engineering and Work Measurement

Conduct time studies, motion studies, work sampling, process observation, and direct labor analysis using documented and repeatable methods.

• Develop and maintain standard times, labor standards, standard work, work instructions, process maps, and operating-method documentation.

• Identify unnecessary movement, waiting, transportation, handling, rework, duplication, and other non-value-added activities and recommend practical countermeasures.

 • Validate proposed methods through shop-floor trials and confirm that improvements are safe, achievable, documented, trained, and sustained.

Capacity, Line Balancing, and Resource Planning

• Measure and analyze process capacity, cycle time, takt time, bottlenecks, constraints, equipment loading, throughput, and utilization.

• Develop line-balancing and staffing recommendations that align labor and equipment resources with production requirements and approved service levels.

• Support short- and medium-term capacity planning, production planning, shift-pattern reviews, overtime analysis, and manpower requirements.

• Prepare capacity scenarios for volume changes, new products, process changes, equipment additions, or operational improvement initiatives

Layout, Material Flow, and Workplace Design

• Analyze plant, line, workstation, warehouse, and support-area layouts to improve flow, accessibility, space utilization, safety, and communication.

• Map material, people, and information movement and recommend changes that reduce travel distance, congestion, excess inventory, handling, and delay.

• Support workstation and workplace design using ergonomic principles, standardized tools, point-of-use storage, visual controls, and 5S practices.

• Assist with layout and flow requirements for new equipment, production lines, expansions, transfers, and process modifications.

Productivity and Continuous Improvement

Lead or support improvement activities using 5S, Kaizen, value-stream mapping, PDCA, root cause analysis, visual management, mistake-proofing, and other appropriate lean methods.

 • Analyze losses affecting output, efficiency, yield, quality, delivery, labor productivity, equipment performance, energy, scrap, waste, and rework.

• Build fact-based improvement cases, define expected benefits and implementation requirements, and track results against approved baselines.

• Work with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehousing, HSE, Engineering, Finance, and HR to implement and sustain cross-functional improvements.

Performance Data and Reporting

• Collect, validate, analyze, and report production and industrial-engineering data with clear definitions, sources, assumptions, and controls.

• Maintain dashboards and reports covering productivity, output, efficiency, utilization, cycle time, downtime, yield, waste, rework, labor hours, and improvement benefits.

• Investigate abnormal trends or data inconsistencies and coordinate corrective actions with the responsible operational teams.

• Present findings and recommendations clearly through charts, process maps, layouts, calculations, business cases, and concise management reports.

Quality, Cost, Safety, and Standardization

• Support quality and cost-improvement initiatives by identifying the operational causes of defects, variation, loss, excess consumption, and inefficient resource use.

• Ensure proposed methods and layouts respect product-quality requirements, HSE controls, ergonomics, emergency access, and approved operating procedures.

• Document approved processes and controls, support operator and supervisor training, and verify adherence through observation and performance review.

• Participate in risk assessments, audits, incident or defect investigations, and corrective-action follow-up when industrial-engineering input is required.

Projects and Change Implementation

Support industrialization, automation, equipment, digitalization, cost-reduction, and operational-excellence projects from analysis through implementation and benefit verification.

• Prepare project data, requirements, layouts, work plans, cost-benefit analysis, schedules, risk registers, and progress updates within the role's responsibility.

• Coordinate trials, pilot runs, training, process handover, and post-implementation reviews with affected stakeholders.

• Maintain complete records of studies, calculations, approvals, revised standards, and verified improvement results.

What you'll bring

Qualifications and Experience Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from a recognized university.

• Two to three years of relevant industrial-engineering, process-improvement, production, or operations-excellence experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Practical exposure to time and motion studies, work measurement, standard work, capacity analysis, line balancing, process mapping, layout improvement, or manpower planning.

• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving methods. • Strong analytical and spreadsheet capability, including the ability to organize, validate, analyze, and clearly present operational data.

• Ability to work regularly on the shop floor, engage supervisors and operators professionally, and convert analysis into practical implementation.

• Professional working proficiency in Arabic and English, including the preparation of reports, presentations, process documents, and training material.

Preferred Profile

Experience in a structured manufacturing environment with production lines, warehouses, utilities, quality systems, and cross-functional improvement teams.

• Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, quality, project management, or occupational ergonomics.

• Experience with ERP, MES, OEE or production-monitoring systems and data-visualization tools such as Power BI.

• Proficiency with process-mapping, statistical, simulation, or layout tools such as Visio, Minitab, AutoCAD, or equivalent applications. • Evidence of completed projects that improved productivity, capacity, quality, delivery, cost, space utilization, safety, or labor efficiency.

• Completion of assigned studies and improvement projects against scope, schedule, quality, safety, and expected benefits

 • Adoption and sustained compliance with approved standard work, layouts, and improvement actions

Working Conditions

Manufacturing-site role requiring regular presence on production floors, warehouses, workshops, and other operational areas.

 • May require flexibility during production trials, shift studies, stock counts, project implementation, or urgent operational improvement activities.

 • Must comply with all site-access, confidentiality, personal protective equipment, food/product quality, and HSE requirements applicable to the employer's operations.

Compensation

Monthly salary range: JOD 500-600. The final offer within this range will reflect the successful candidate's relevant manufacturing experience, technical capability, qualifications, and overall fit. Other employment terms and benefits will be governed by company policy and the final employment contract.
