Position Summary
The Executive Director provides overall strategic leadership and management of the platform, ensuring its credibility, growth, and operational effectiveness. The role oversees partnerships, NGO onboarding, sponsorship development, and governance while ensuring that the platform maintains the highest standards of transparency and neutrality in listing and presenting NGOs.
The Executive Director is responsible for setting the annual strategic direction of the project, mobilizing operational sponsorships, and expanding the network of vetted NGOs featured on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the annual strategic plan for the platform, setting priorities, objectives, and milestones for a one-year cycle.
- Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and increased impact.
- Oversee the coordination of the platform’s operational, technological, and communications functions.
NGO Onboarding & Platform Growth
- Lead outreach and engagement with NGOs to identify, onboard, and expand the network of credible organizations listed on the platform.
- Ensure that NGOs understand the platform’s purpose, listing criteria, and operational policies.
- Work closely with the Vetting & Research Manager to ensure all listed organizations meet the platform’s integrity standards.
Sponsorships & Institutional Partnerships
- Secure sponsorships and institutional support to cover the platform’s operational costs, including administrative, technical, and communications expenses.
- Develop partnerships with foundations, corporations, and philanthropic institutions interested in supporting the platform’s mission.
- Ensure that sponsors do not influence the listing or vetting of NGOs, preserving the platform’s neutrality and independence.
Governance & Representation
- Serve as the principal representative of the platform in public engagements, conferences, and institutional meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with board members, advisors, and strategic partners.
- Ensure compliance with governance, transparency, and legal standards.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate the work of the platform’s core staff.
- Ensure effective collaboration between technology, vetting, and communications functions.
What you'll bring
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in marketing and communications or management.
- 5–10 years of leadership experience in the media, or digital platform sector.
- Demonstrated experience in partnership development, sponsorship mobilization, or institutional fundraising.
- Strong knowledge of NGO governance and civil society ecosystems.
- Excellent leadership, diplomacy, and strategic communication skills.
