Our Client , a leading company in Jordan , is looking for Procurement Director , to be based in Amman – Jordan and reports to GM

 

Procurement Director Purpose

 

Procurement Director is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing process within the company. This involves setting purchasing policies, managing purchasing budgets, and overall management of purchasing processes.

 

The role also involves setting and facilitating the overall purchasing strategy of the company. In addition, they work with other professionals both inside and outside the company regarding purchasing, including communicating with managers, engineers, administrators, and sales representatives. They also work with vendors and suppliers to ensure the procurement process runs smoothly and improving it where necessary.

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  1. Develop sourcing and procurement activities that support key business objectives.

 

  1. Develop and execute a long-term strategy to facilitate improvements for Procurement Services.

 

  1. Ensure the execution of procurement strategies across the firm to ensure consistent and high quality value delivery.

 

  1. Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management to support commercial and operational objectives.

 

  1. Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage the acquisition and reporting of third-party spend across the company.

 

  1. Lead rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, legal department and support groups.

 

  1. Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities.

 

  1. Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.

 

  1. Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.

 

  1. Manage recruiting, training and supervising a team of Category Managers who are responsible for day-to-day category management activities.

 

  1. Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across all categories within span of control including targets, timelines and resource plans.

 

  1. Build market intelligence capabilities within the category management team on key markets, suppliers and solutions to support strategy development purposes.

 

  1. Analyze market and delivery trends so as to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.

 

  1. Update procurement strategies based on changing market conditions.

 Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team

performance and development

 Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage,

negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers

 Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels

 Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

 Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities

 Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines

 Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets

 

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

Only Jordanian candidates to apply

 Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant commercial or

engineering discipline or equivalent

 Preferably a Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement

& Supply (CIPS)

 Demonstrable experience of leading a purchasing function with a proven

track record in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective

purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems

 Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements

 Proven contract management and supplier experience

 Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level

 Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes and

components and supply chain management

 Computer literate, especially Excel skills
